Biographical Information
My farming journey began while in college studying Agriculture Business. It was then that I built two broiler houses in 2001 with a loan from Farm Credit. After graduation, I married my wife, Cindy, and we expanded the operation by building two more broiler houses. We also began building a beef cattle herd and became involved with my father’s farrow to finish hog operation. We continued to expand the cattle and hog operation which led to growing our own corn and soybeans for feed.
During this time, I became active in the Farm Bureau Young Farmers and Ranchers program where I served as state chairman in 2009. I was blessed to be named the Tennessee Young Farmer of the Year in 2014 and represent our state at the national level winning first runner up. Our operation has steadily grown over the years with the addition of more broiler houses, acreage, and a freezer beef and pork business. Cindy and I have been married for 21 years and have two boys, Evan (13) and Luke (11).
Why do you want to serve on the Farm Credit Mid-America Board?
Farm Credit Mid-America provided me with my first loan 24 years ago. I have had a great working relationship with them since that time. I have been involved in several aspects of Farm Credit Mid-America including the Advisory Committee, Advocate Council, and Nominating Committee. I hope to continue working with them as a Board member. With the ever-changing agriculture environment, it is essential that Farm Credit Mid-America is there to help the farmers meet the needs of their operations. If elected I will work with the other board members on ways to make Farm Credit Mid-America more efficient while serving their customers.
